Sense of Security

Sense of Security pays monthly bills for living expenses for Coloradans undergoing breast
cancer treatment. Our support can be used for housing, food, utilities, transportation, insurance or COBRA premiums or other everyday non-medical expenses. We are the only nonprofit organization in Colorado that provides ongoing financial support for breast cancer patients throughout their months of treatment.

Since our inception in 2000, Sense of Security has provided more than $1.4 million in
direct financial assistance to over 850 Coloradans receiving breast cancer treatment. We offer safety as they travel through the storm.

About half of the assistance we have provided has been used to pay rent or mortgage
payments. Supermarket gift cards were the next most popular item because they can be used to purchase nutritious food, as well as gas to get to and from medical and treatment appointments. Together, these two areas of assistance have accounted for approximately 75% of the funding provided.

There are approximately 2,800 breast cancer diagnoses in Colorado every year. The need
far exceeds our resources, and we receive many more requests than we can fulfill. With your generous support, we can help more breast cancer patients to rest, recover, and return to their lives.
